AIANTA Wants You! Preparations Underway for World's Leading Travel Show
Albuquerque, New Mexico (October 15, 2014) – The American Indian Alaska Native Tourism Association (AIANTA) will be representing Indian Country tourism at the world’s leading travel tradeshow, ITB Berlin, March 4-8, 2015 in Berlin, Germany. AIANTA’s pavilion at ITB, which was awarded as one of the top ten booths at last year’s show, displays the cultural diversity of Indian Country through featuring representatives from Tribes and tribal organizations from around the county.

AIANTA’s goal is to provide technical training and resources on the international travel and trade market to two representatives from each of the six AIANTA regions – Alaska, Pacific, Plains, Southwest, Midwest and Eastern. In support of that goal, AIANTA is seeking Native American tourism organizations in all regions for participation in the upcoming ITB Berlin tradeshow.
With more than 174,000 visitors to the show in 2014, among these 114,000 trade visitors, and representatives from 189 countries, ITB Berlin is the leading B2B-platform in the tourism industry. It has proven to be a significant venue to showcase Indian Country tourism and to establish and sustain our presence in the international tourism market.

“At ITB Berlin, we show international travelers how culturally diverse we really are,” said AIANTA Executive Director Camille Ferguson. “The European market, and especially the German market has proven to be a major contributor to the Indian Country tourism industry. This show in Germany presents a great opportunity to illustrate the wealth of places, people and experiences Indian Country has to offer to thousands of potential visitors.”

Interested Native American tourism organizations should contact AIANTA by Friday October 31 to submit interest in participating. Selections of two representatives from each region will be made on a first-come, first-serve basis to qualifying Native American tourism organizations. After October 31, all unassigned spaces within the AIANTA/ITB Pavilion will be open to any qualifying Native American tourism organizations within AIANTA’s six regions. The absolute final deadline to register and pay for participation in the AIANTA/ITB pavilion is November 15, 2014.
