Good advice
Dr. Orna Izakson’s naturopathic advice brought back childhood memories. My grandmother used a few home remedies on me at a very young age. Gram used to rub Vicks VapoRub or Save the Baby Liquid on my chest and then apply a warm/hot piece of flannel from the oven. The fumes would clear the nasal passages and lungs.
At times she would also stick a mustard plaster patch on my chest covered with a warm flannel cloth. Gram would come home with a bottle of Father John’s cod liver oil tonic. She would shake the bottle which would make the liquid creamy white and put it on a spoon to swallow.
I wasn’t allowed outdoors the next day following the Vicks or mustard plaster treatment. This treatment would be done again the following day. The cod liver oil would be given daily until it was gone.
Grandmother knew best. In 1982, she passed on at 100 years old.
