Shoni Schimmel’s clutch jumper in the final seconds of Game 3 in the Eastern Conference semifinals was not enough to take the Dream to the finals.

Instead, it was a last-second jumper by the Chicago Sky’s Elena Delle Donne that won the game, sending her team to the WNBA finals, where they will face the Indiana Fever. The Dream lost this heartbreaker 81-80.

Schimmel scored only two points and had six assists, but despite the loss, the rookie guard still had support from her fans.

Delle Donne dominated most of the fourth quarter, scoring 17 points, 34 total, to pull the Sky ahead late. Chicago trailed most of the game by 16 to 20 points, but proved to be unstoppable.

"I think we got away from what we were doing well," Dream coach Michael Cooper told the AP. "I thought the execution of our offense kind of went out the window a little bit. We started to take some quick shots and some bad shots. And then our defense kind of got away from us."

Erika de Souza scored 18 points and Angel McCoughtry had 17 for the Dream. McCoughtry and De Souza had helped the Dream reach the WNBA finals three times in the last four years.

The Associated Press said that the Sky pulled off the biggest fourth-quarter comeback in WNBA history.

But for Schimmel and the Dream, there’s always next season. Schimmel tweeted several encouraging tweets like this one:
