Ultra-Marathoner Micah True Died of Heart Disease

The Associated Press is reporting that Ultra-Marathoner Micah True, whose body was found on March 31 while on a routine (for him) run through a remote part of the Gila Wilderness in New Mexico died of heart disease. He was 58.

The Associated Pressis reporting that Ultra-Marathoner Micah True, whose body was found on March 31 while on a routine (for him) run through a remote part of the Gila Wilderness in New Mexico died of heart disease. He was 58.

An autopsy report showed that True had cardiomyopathy, a disease in which the heart becomes enlarged. True's left ventricle, responsible for pumping oxygenated blood to the rest of his body, was thick and dilated.

True was the creator of the Copper Canyon Ultramarathon, the proceeds of which benefited the community of indigenous people who live in the Chihuahua region of Mexico, the Tarahumara (known as the Rarámuri) Indians.
