Montana Native Vote endorses Bullock and Williams for 2020 Election

The power of the Native Vote in Big Sky Country will once again be on display in this year's election. With that being said, Montana Native Vote is pleased to announce the endorsements of Steve Bullock for the U.S. Senate and Kathleen Williams for the U.S. House of Representatives.
Montana Native Vote is Montana’s only statewide grassroots organization that Inspires Indigenous action and builds political power with Native Americans by encouraging leaders to run for office at the county, state and national levels while holding elected officials accountable to the people they serve. They provide the tools needed to advocate for policies that benefit tribal communities and provide resources and training for members to engage in the legislative process at the state and federal level.
“Steve Bullock has been a voice for our Native communities during his tenure as Montana’s Governor. He doesn’t just show up around election time but has responded to our call throughout the years and is accessible to all Montanans. He has been there from day one. He knows us,” said Marci McLean, Executive Director for Montana Native Vote. “Our people need his voice in Washington to make good choices for us on healthcare, tribal sovereignty, MMIW/P and other issues facing Indian Country. We have no question that he will fight for us and stand up to those Washington politicians who have no idea what goes on here. We are proud to endorse Steve Bullock as Montana’s U.S. Senator,” said McLean.

Montana Native Vote’s Treasurer, Rhonda Whiteman said, “Kathleen Williams has consistently been an advocate for Native Americans. Williams was one of the key negotiators on the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Water Compact, and helped ensure its passage. She’s pledged to work with tribal leaders on issues from poverty, to education, to jobs.” “As our Congresswoman, Williams will be a champion in Washington for tribal nations in Montana. Kathleen Williams is the clear choice to represent Montana in Congress,” stated Whiteman.
Due to the ongoing public health crisis, voters across Montana will primarily be voting by mail. Ballots will be mailed out October 9th and can be either returned or mailed to county/satellite elections offices. Anyone wishing to get registered to vote can do so at their local elections office all the way up until Election Day on November 3rd.
