Once a staple of the Oneida diet, the trout of Trout Creek disappeared from the streams about 30 years ago as manure runoff from farms prevented the fish from reproducing. But within the next few years, fishermen could catch brook trout in the streams of Trout Creek, thanks to an effort by the Oneida Water Resources team and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources to repopulate the watershed with its namesake species.
