DENVER – CoLours TV is now broadcasting NorthWest Indian News, a half-hour news program. Viewers can watch CoLours TV on Dish Network channels 9407/9396, select cable systems and online at www.colourstv.org.
NWIN broadcast its first episode in March 2003, with funding from the Tulalip Tribes. Since then, it has produced 35 episodes on events and issues important to Native people. Its first episode is still being used as curriculum in public schools and is broadcast on various television networks along with more recent NWIN episodes.
NWIN’s goals are to be a positive voice for Native people in the mainstream media, to inform the world about events and issues important to Native people and provide employment in the broadcast industry to Native people.
