Pyet DeSpain won “Next Level Chef,” the new cooking competition from award-winning chef Gordon Ramsay. She is a citizen of the Prairie Band Potawatomi nation and Mexican. Both cultures inspire her recipes. DeSpain joins us to share part of her journey.

In California, one of the few Indigenous owned wine labels, Kita Wines, is closing its doors. ICT editor-at-large Mark Trahant spoke with the winemaker, Tara Gomez, who is one of the few Indigenous women to make wine.

Kelli Mosteller, Potawatomi Nation

In Shawnee, Oklahoma, the Potawatomi Nation is remembering its 155th Anniversary of moving to Indian Territory. Kelli Mosteller, director for the Citizen Potawatomi Nation Cultural Heritage Center, joins us to discuss the history behind the anniversary.

Adam Piron has been tapped to succeed Bird Runningwater as the head of the Sundance Institute’s Indigenous Program. Piron started as a short film programmer for the Sundance Film Festival.

The 2022 United States Artist Fellowship program comes with a $50,000 unrestricted prize. Among the 63 individuals honored is Oglala citizen Marty Two Bulls Jr.
