Gallia County as a tourist destination is the goal of a new working Indian village that was recently proposed to the O.O. McIntyre Park District Board of Commissioners. The idea behind the project, proposed by Tom Abrahamson, vice president of the Native American Education Association, and local arborist Scott Swain, is to provide a Native American tribe with a place to teach and practice its heritage, while bringing income and jobs to Gallia, at no actual monetary cost to the county.
