Warrior spirit lives on at Carpinteria High School. After a year of contentious meetings over campus Native American imagery, the school board voted Tuesday night to keep most of the Indian themes. The whole thing started when a student member of the Chumash tribe complained last year that the mascot perpetuates stereotypes and is offensive to Native Americans.
