Thank you for your excellent editorial on this subject, ”Disenrollment and Community Building,” [Vol. 27, Iss. 36]. As a disenrolled tribal member from the Hunter family of the Pechanga Indian Reservation, I have been personally affected by this issue. As your editorial states, money, family rivalries, politics and greedy lawyers have severely damaged the Pechanga community. These problems have become public matters that damage all of Indian country, and threaten public perception of tribal sovereignty and the integrity of Indian gaming. The solutions that the article proposes are reasonable and clearly presented. Your editorial is much appreciated.
