The Forsyth County Public Library will be holding a Spring Genealogy Series of nine free workshops beginning May 1 with “More Than Land Descriptions: Treasures Among Deeds” with genealogist Linda Woodward Geiger at 6:30 p.m at the Cumming Library. Also at that location on May 5 at 1 p.m. will be “Genealogy Legacy? Or Heritage?” with Robert A. Sapp. On May 22, the Cumming Library will welcome W. Cliff Robert and his talk about “Researching Your Ancestors: Using Civil War Records” at 6:30 p.m.

Kathy Dempsey will present “History’s Influence on Migration Patterns, 17th Century Through Early 20th Century” on Thursday, May 24 at 6:30 p.m. at the Cumming Library. The final presentation at the Cumming Library will be with Linda Woodward Geiger on May 29 at 6:30 p.m. She will discuss “Using Tax Lists to Solve Genealogical Problems.”

The Cumming branch is located at 585 Dahlonega Road, in Cumming, Georgia.

For a more introductory course, participants can join Wayne Andrews for Genealogy 101, a four-part series that will introduce genealogy to beginners. All four sessions will be held at 2 p.m. at the Hampton Park Library, 5345 Settingdown Road, Cumming, Georgia. Sessions will be held May 5, 6, 12 and 19.
