A spiritual connection is said to exist between the Blackfeet people and horses, going back more than a century, when tribal members were considered some of the best horsemen among the Plains Indian tribes. That connection is still strong, and it was on display Thursday during a memorial rodeo that has become a fitting kick-off to the tribe’s biggest celebration, the 59th annual North American Indian Days, which continues here through Sunday.
