Dr. Kumiko Noguchi has been studying Native American history for 13 years, reports the Porterville Recorder.
“I started when I was 22 years old,” she told the newspaper. “I’m now 34. My research is still going on. Maybe it will take a whole lifetime for me because there is so much.”
Right now she’s studying the Tule River Indian Tribe by interviewing elders on the reservation. She plans to write a history of the tribe, from the tribe’s perspective.
