One week ago, Dennis Vince Kequom was named chief of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe. He’s had a busy first few days. Two days after he took office, the Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort received a bomb threat, evacuated nearly 3,000 people, and closed the doors for almost 10 hours. “I went to the break room to talk to the employees the next day, to tell them how much I appreciate them,” said Kequom. “I’m a factory guy, and I think it’s like a factory over there.”
