San Diego Gas & Electric Co. is partnering with an Indian tribe and an energy company to build California’s second-largest wind-power project in the mountains just east of San Diego, it was reported today. The utility, along with the Campo Band of Kumeyaay Indians and Chicago-based Invenergy, wants to build a 160-megawatt wind farm capable of powering up to 104,000 homes within the next two years, The San Diego Union-Tribune reported.
