Southern California tribe helps Hoopa with its air quality crisis

Since the lightning-sparked inland wildfires broke out June 21, smoke continues to blanket the Hoopa Valley, a situation that has prompted the Hoopa Valley Tribe to spend more than $100,000 to help area residents minimize the health impacts. The tribe’s efforts got a boost Friday with a $25,000 donation from the Southern California-based San Manuel Band of Serrano Mission Indians.
