The outpouring of assistance to victims of the New York and Washington, D.C., terrorist attacks from Indian country continues.

The largest single contribution, $1 million, came from the Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut. San Manuel Band of Serrano Mission Indians gave $500,000. The Yavapai-Prescott Tribe gave $250,000 through the Yavapai County Red Cross. The Rumsey Rancheria contributed $200,000; $100,000 from the Prairie Band Potawatomi and the Tulalip Tribes; $25,000 each from Morongo, Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla, Pechanga, Berry Creek, Cherry Mountain, Mooretown and Table Mountain rancherias, Cabazon Band of Mission Indians, the Muckleshoot Casino, Soboba Band of Luiseno Indians, Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians; $20,000 from the Choctaw Nation and Saginaw Chippewa; $11,000 from St. Regis Mohawk; $10,000 from Coeur d’Alene and the Hopland Band of Pomo Indians; Quechan Nation $5,000; Gun Lake Tribe $3,800, and $1,000 from the Nooksack Tribe and the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe, with an additional $150,000 from individuals in Indian country.

Of the total it is estimated that more than $1 million has been donated as in-kind services.
