A woman has been sentenced to 6 1/2 years in prison for stabbing her boyfriend to death. Rebecca Brown of Fort Totten was sentenced Thursday on a voluntary manslaughter charge. Authorities said the 49-year-old Brown stabbed 36-year-old Derek Longie in the chest with a knife, during “a sudden quarrel and heat of passion.” It happened in January on the Spirit Lake Indian Reservation.
