This year has already been historic as Lily Gladstone has become the first Indigenous person to win best actress in a drama from the Golden Globes.

“Frybread Face and Me” is a coming-of-age film about a Navajo boy going to the rez for the first time. It reached the top 10 on Netflix in December. We spoke with the director Billy Luther and what the film meant to him.

We talk with Joy Hanley, as she is honored with the Phyllis Bigpond lifetime achievement award. She dedicated her life to education on a local and national level and championed the Indian Child Welfare Act and the Indian Arts and Crafts Act.

We remember Klee Benally, a life-long activist of Indigenous rights and sovereignty who alongside his advocacy was a talented guitarist, known for his contributions to the Native American punk rock band Blackfire, where he performed alongside his sister and brother.
