In Hawai’i, $700,000 in grant funding will investigate the state’s climate using Indigenous approaches. Scientists at the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa, will study Hawaiian communities and ecosystems that are particularly vulnerable to extreme weather events, such as flash floods and wildfires. The National Science Foundation grant will be used to conduct research that uses both scientific and traditional native Hawaiian knowledge to learn about the climate.

March Madness continues on as the University of Utah star Alissa Pili is entering the 2024 WNBA draft. In March, the Samoan and Inupiaq forward broke a record for the most points made in a single season in her college’s history.
