Ploughshares at Emerson College
The 2022 Emerging Writer’s Contest is open for one more month!
Awarded annually, the Emerging Writer’s Contest recognizes Fiction, Poetry, and Nonfiction by writers who have yet to publish a book of their work. One winner in each genre will receive $2,000, a conversation with Aevitas Creative Management, and publication in Ploughshares.
This year’s Emerging Writer’s Contest judges are Amelia Gray (Fiction), Chen Chen (Poetry), and Danielle Geller (Nonfiction).
The deadline for submissions to the Emerging Writer’s Contest is May 15, 2022. We hope you will continue to share the flyer below with your writing communities and encourage them to review the contest guidelines on our website.
The Spring 2022 Issue of Ploughshares is out now! Guest-edited by Ilya Kaminsky, the Spring 2022 Issue of Ploughshares features original poetry, prose, and works in translation by Sheila Black, Mary Jo Bang, Andrés Cerpa, Victoria Chang, Kwame Dawes, Jane Hirshfield, Boris Khersonsky, Abbas Kiarostami, Paige Lewis, Layli Long Soldier, Khadijah Queen, Hadara Bar-Nadav, Hassaan Mirza, Patricia Smith, and others.
