News Release
Raven Reads Books Ltd.
Scouts Canada and Raven Reads have partnered to co-create a new resource containing books and educational materials to assist in leading discussions around reconciliation and Indigenous cultures in Canada. This box will be released this Fall and will be available to purchase on the Raven Reads website.
“Raven Reads is very excited to collaborate with Scouts Canada to create this box and to provide informative books and literature to promote reconciliation in Canada,” says Nicole McLaren, founder and CEO of Raven Reads. The boxes, which will be made available to Scouts Canada members, will contain informative print materials and age-appropriate books written by Indigenous authors. There will be suggested activities in each box that will integrate the Truth & Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action.
This is not the only collaboration Raven Reads has planned. “We are excited to unveil more projects in the near future; Scouts Canada is only the beginning of our collaborations.” Although this is the first collaborative box dedicated primarily to young people, Raven Reads already runs a seasonal subscription box for children containing Indigenous-written books.
