Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation

WHAT:
- The Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation (CTUIR) and Confederated Tribes and Bands of the Yakama Nation (Yakama Nation) are coming together for ‘Honor the Wykanish’ (salmon).
- The event will highlight the vital role the Snake River and salmon play in the lifeways, identity and culture of tribal communities.
- It will feature youth leaders, dance exhibitions, music and food.
- Tribal leadership from CTUIR, Yakama Nation and other Northwest tribes will call for communities and tribes to work together to restore salmon populations and healthy fish ecosystems in the midst of climate change.
