The Brothertown Indian Nation can feel the change coming. Members who gathered recently for an annual potluck at Lakeside Park in Fond du Lac are among the 4,100-strong Indian community waiting for federal re-acknowledgment of their tribal status. After years of struggle, they are finally “at the top of the list and waiting for a final decision,” said tribal chairman Rick Schadewald of Green Bay.
