Michael Farrow, a top-ranking tribal official, has been appointed to a four-year term on the Columbia River Gorge Commission. An interim Senate committee approved Gov. John Kitzhaber’s nomination of Farrow on Sept. 5. Farrow, longtime director of the tribe’s Department of Natural Resources, replaces Louis Pitt of the Confederated Tribes of the Warm Springs. The 13-member commission is charged with protecting the Columbia River Gorge’s natural, cultural and recreational resources while promoting the region’s economy.
