A former employee of the Fort Peck Tribal Gaming Department pleaded innocent May 22 in U.S. District Court to embezzling more than $150,000 from tribally owned gaming machines. Willis George Buck, 32, of Frazer – a former gaming technician with the tribe – is charged with stealing the money between February 1997 and December 1999, a grand jury indictment, unsealed May 22, shows. The machines are owned by the Fort Peck tribes and are in several casinos on the reservation. The maximum penalty is 20 years in prison and a $1 million fine. U.S. Magistrate Richard Cebull did not set a trial date and allowed Buck to remain free on his own recognizance.
