The tribe will receive housing loans of $730,030 and $743,830 from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, as well as grants worth $151,198 for environmental projects, Democratic Sens. Tom Daschle and Tim Johnson announced. The housing loans will build two new 12-unit elderly housing complexes at Wanblee and Allen. Each facility will provide 12 one-bedroom rental units and common laundry facilities and a community room. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has approved grants of $73,145 and $78,053 to the tribe for ground- and surface-water quality projects.
