Description:
Established as part of the National Historic Preservation Act, a Tribal Historic Preservation Office (THPO) is the designated tribal preservation program of a federally recognized tribe. Their duties include administering federal historic preservation law, consulting with state, local and federal agencies and institutions, as well as tending to heritage preservation concerns closer to home. Join us as preservation officials from Pueblo communities discuss the foundations, administration and functions of their offices, as well as some of the challenges and successes of their programs.
