- In North Carolina, state lawmakers are proposing a law to make it easier for developers to bulldoze archaeological sites. Construction was paused in Cedar Point when archeologists discovered a burial ground believed to be 3,000 years old. The bill would allow construction to continue.
- Catholic bishops nationwide plan to apologize to Native Americans for cultural harm and make changes around ministry. The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops meet next week to discuss an apology.
- In South Dakota, two well-known Native American lawmakers lost their reelection bid in the primary. Mother-son duo Tamara St. John and Tyler Tordsen were among 12 other Republican incumbents who lost their primary vote. Voter turn-out was at an all time low of 17 percent.
- ICT caught up with WNBA star Alissa Pili, a Samoan and Inupiaq player with the Minnesota Lynx. She was playing in Arizona against the Phoenix Mercury. She has a message for Indigenous youth.
