Prior to colonization, Two-Spirit and LGBTQ+ individuals held respected roles within Native American tribes. The Winnebago Pride Committee (Bago Pride) is hosting a Drive-In Movie screening of “The Little Mermaid,” to reclaim and remind that Two-Spirit and LGBTQ+ people have always been “Part of our World.”
Bago Pride is offering community members and participants a free meal followed by movie snacks starting at 5:30 p.m., and showtime is at 7:00 p.m. This event was made possible by fundraising and contributions from our family, friends, and supports.

Bago Pride began in 2019 with our first Pride event: a small cookout attended by twelve people. Siouxland Pride Alliance encouraged the Winnebago Pride Committee to start small. Now, Bago Pride has 413 followers on its Facebook page and growing. Bago Pride’s mission is to host events to bring awareness and create a supportive space for Two-Spirit and LGBTQ+ people within our tribal community and beyond. We are hoping for a good turn-out for our second ever event.

We would like to invite you to share this celebration with us!
