Katie Oyan is an enrolled member of Oglala Sioux Tribe and a journalist, editor and newsroom strategist with 25 years of experience in national and local news. As President and CEO of IndiJ Public Media and Chief Editorial Officer of its flagship brand, ICT. Katie leads the organization’s strategic vision and editorial direction. Before joining IndiJ in 2025, Katie spent nearly two decades at the Associated Press, where she launched and led its Local News Success department. She holds a degree from the University of Montana School of Journalism.
