Pauly Denetclaw is a citizen of the Navajo Nation and ICT’s climate correspondent. She is Haltsooí (Meadow People) born for Kinyaa’áanii (Towering House People). An award-winning journalist based in Missoula, Montana, she has covered environmental and Indigenous issues for the Navajo Times, Texas Observer, High Country News, Source New Mexico, Condé Nast Traveler, and The Nation. Denetclaw’s reporting focuses on accuracy, context, and community voices, with an emphasis on the impacts of climate change on Indigenous nations. She is originally from Gallup, New Mexico.
