Cassandra Morgan wants to change this. She’s a Diné Marine veteran who advocates for women on the Navajo Reservation. She’s a program lead for the Diné Naazbaa Partnership.

She has a special focus on Navajo and women veterans. With experience as an accredited national service officer for the Military Order of the Purple Heart of the USA and leadership roles in local veterans organizations, including Wide Ruins Veterans Organization and Ft. Defiance Agency Veterans Organization, Morgan’s dedication to her fellow warriors is unwavering. Through her work, she strives to help veterans achieve true HOZHO – meaning a balanced and harmonious life in Navajo culture.

“As a woman veteran, I’ve always looked for services from the VA, that acknowledge my service,” Morgan said. Specialized services for women have increased since she started in the 1990s.
