The Nike Factory Store in Chandler, Arizona, was packed with fans recently as part of a celebration connected to the Native American Basketball Invitational.
Nike featured two Cherokee basketball stars with ties to Oklahoma.
Lindy Waters III, who is also Kiowa, finished his first year for the NBA’s Oklahoma City Thunder and Chelsea Dungee, Troy women’s assistant basketball coach. Dungee was drafted by the Dallas Wings fifth overall in the 2021 WNBA Draft and played one season for the team.

Waters and Dungee spoke to a packed store, many NABI athletes, on July 21 that also featured music, food and a raffle.
NABI wrapped up July 23 with the Rezbombers winning this year’s girls tournament and the Arizona Warriors winning the boys bracket.
