Last week, U .S. Department of Agriculture Deputy Secretary Xochitl Torres Small traveled to southern Arizona to the Tohono Oʼodham Nation to announce a nearly $10 million grant to provide high-speed and fiber-based internet to tribal residents.

Two Indigiqueer artists are challenging Grand Ronde history recorded by settler historians. They found accounts of a Two-Spirit woman, documented by Grand Ronde tribal people. Anthony Hudson and Felix Furby curated an exhibit in their tribe’s cultural center, the Chachalu Museum. My Father’s Father’s Sister: Our Ancestor Shimkhin.

Earlier this week, Mvskoke Media reported that Gary Fife died. Called the Voice of Mvskoke Nation Radio, he was 73. Starting his career during the Civil Rights Movement, Fife was a well-known radio personality, hosting “First Person Radio” and “National Native News.”

Language revitalization is important to tribes across Turtle Island. Michael Running Wolf, a Northern Cheyenne AI expert, is working to teach and preserve languages using this advanced technology. ICT producer Stewart Huntington has this report.
