Cherokee Nation and its businesses presented a $50,000 check to the Tulsa Area United Way to help support the agency’s annual campaign. Through financial contributions and employee volunteers, the tribe has supported the nonprofit organization’s mission to improve lives and build a stronger community since 2013.
“Our tribal government, our businesses and our incredible employees work earnestly to improve the wellbeing of Cherokee citizens, as well as our neighbors and communities throughout the Cherokee Nation reservation and beyond,” said Cherokee Nation Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr. “We are proud to continue serving alongside the Tulsa Area United Way, and our many nonprofit partners, to ensure that all of Oklahoma can flourish and thrive.”
Every year, the Tulsa Area United Way serves thousands of individuals through partnering agencies located throughout Tulsa, Rogers, Creek, Okmulgee, and Wagoner counties. Tulsa Area United Way works to advance the common good by building a better quality of life through education and financial stability, as well as health and safety.
In the last 97 years, the United Way has invested more than $850 million in services and helped fulfill the needs of millions of area individuals. Tulsa Area United Way raised more than $25 million during its 2021 campaign.
