A Salmon Celebration, open house and dedication ceremony for Phase 2 of the Umatilla Basin Project was scheduled May 20. The events sponsored by the tribes and the Bureau of Reclamation invited visitors to view young salmon as they began their journey to the Pacific Ocean and returning adult Chinook salmon as they were inventoried and returned to the Umatilla River. It was the fourth annual celebration at Three-Mile fish facility where Phase 2 of the project recently was completed.
