The band is interested in a nearly 93-acre site west of Shullsburg for a tribal casino, Mayor Dan Morrissey says. At a Shullsburg City Council meeting early this month, the mayor said he didn’t know if a price had been negotiated on the property on Wisconsin 11. Dick Matty, a Lac du Flambeau spokesman, said the tribe is conducting a feasibility study on the casino idea. An environmental study must also be completed before any plans can be forwarded to the governor’s office and the BIA.
