A Fort Yates man has been sentenced to three years probation and ordered to repay $22,000 to the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe. Thomas Hinsley, 40, pleaded guilty Sept. 5 to embezzlement, the U.S. attorney’s office said. Hinsley was accused of converting tribal money to his own use while he worked as a child care specialist on the Standing Rock
Reservation. Authorities said it happened between January 1998 and August 1999.
